The Veluwe is an area of natural beauty, situated between the cities of Arnhem and Apeldoorn. The area boasts long stretches of woodland, heaths of heather, sand drifts and various kinds of flora and fauna. Furthermore, you might encounter a variety of animals, including deer, roebucks and wild boar. Due to the diversity in landscape in this area, you’ll be surprised what The Veluwe has to offer. Estates where one can breathe some of the culture, but also tranquil areas for clearing the mind. The Veluwe has much to offer for active guests as well as those seeking rest. Also, there are various nature parks, which are certainly worth a visit. One of these is National Park The Hoge Veluwe. This large, actively managed nature reserve is the largest privately owned reserve in The Netherlands. It consists of 5,400 acres of woodland, heaths, fens and sand drifts. It boasts a diverse array of plants and animals, including some of the rarest and most endangered species.
The Veluwecentrum now officially functions as a state forest management information point and is thus the visitor center of the Veluwe. Here you can find all kinds of information about the surroundings, buy your tickets for the unique rut (deer mating season) excursions and discover the most beautiful cycling or walking routes. The Veluwecentrum is located at Bungalowpark Hoenderloo. The ambassadors are happy to give you tips for an unforgettable holiday on the Veluwe.
